This pattern gets it name because there are stitches and row repeats that involve the number 3 in this pattern to create a beautiful textured hat. Pattern is written for both the 72 and 80 peg 3/8” gauge loom but can be adapted to other looms as well with peg multiples of 4.
Use the 72 peg loom for head circumferences 21-23” and the 80 peg for 23-26”.
In addition, 110-150 yards total of worsted weight or aran yarn is needed. You may use 2 colors or 1. Sample uses Darice Silky Soft with brim done using autumn red and the body in autumn taupe.
Pattern is suited for the intermediate loom knitter and features detailed written instructions, step by step explanation of stitch sequences, and video links as well. Stitches incorporated in this pattern include ewrap, purl, yarn over, purl 3 together and a stitch that is worked 3 times in one (K1,P1,K1) in same stitch.
