The beret uses Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Pi method. Fine yarn gives the finished beret drape and nice fit. For a little touch of festivity, pearls are added when knitting. They can easily be excluded for a plain and stylish outcome. The beret is easy to knit, almost solely in stockinette stitch. It is knit from the top down, the stem first and knit in the round down to the rolled edge. To get the proper form for the beret, it is essential to block the finished object well.

Yarn suggestions: laceweight held two strands together or fingering weight yarn to suit tension

You’ll also need:
Optional: Pearls, 70 glass seed pearls, size 6/0, model shown with 40 yellow and 30 red pearls
Darning needle
Optional: removable stitch markers or waste yarn loops
