A hat and blanket set makes perfect sense: they are both useful for a long time with a growing a baby. But they have to be durable, soft, and washable and they ought to be beautiful. Hand dyed sock yarn to the rescue!

The fun shape of this hat works for a boy or girl and the matching blanket echoes the textures that show handpainted colors so well.

Dream in Color Smooshy Sock Yarn, 100% Superfine Australian Merino Superwash (450yds/4oz skein): 4 skeins sufficient for both hat and blanket. Specific usage is:
• Hat: 280 yds (approx. 0.6 skein) – all sizes
• Blanket: approx. 1440 yds (3.2 skeins)
