After knitting a large project, you may be left with a tidbit; a delicious wee morsel that needs savouring! Combine 2 of these little treats to create a cute wee hat for a newborn babe.

This free pattern is written for 8ply/DK weight yarn, and to fit a newborn, approximately 3-4kg (7-9lb) in weight, with an head circumference of 35cm.

Construction
This close fit beanie is constructed from the brim upwards, and is knit in the round. It features a very basic slipped stitch transition between two contrasting colours of yarn. The crown of the hat is worked with very rapid decreases, and therefore has a non traditional crown.
