As a southern Californian trapped in the frigid Northeast, I count the days until the temperatures are back up in the 60’s and spring emerges. However, as a knitter, I never want handknit sweater weather to disappear. The moment fall hits and the temperature dips low enough, I dig out the handknits and start showing them off.

In San Diego, where I grew up, one of my favorite things to do is visit the La Jolla Tide Pools and explore the marine life that comes out to play. Memories of leaping over rock, sand and sea keep me warm in the midst of the coldest winter weather, and the teal of the Smooshy Dream in Color, with the undertones of blue, green and purple, instantly transports me back there. Combining this with the chocolate and bright white in stripes create a contrast as stark as that of a New Jersey winter and warm, San Diego goodness.

The Tidepool Vest is a transition piece- it can be worn on the warmest of fall days or be one of many layers in the depths of winter.
