Tile from the Hispanic Arabian al-zuléig
The term tile refers to a thin, usually square, ceramic piece in which one side is glazed, the result of the firing of a coating usually called enamel, which becomes waterproof and shiny. This surface can be monochromatic or polychromatic, smooth or in relief. The cowl starts with a corrugated ribbing, worked first. Next, a beautiful tile motif in shades of blue make the body of the cowl. The 3 shades of blue were choosen to give a 3 dimensional effect and depth. Blue is the most used color in Portuguese tiles…and ends with the same ribbing.
It’s a perfect first project for a colorwork knitting beginner.
Although this cowl was designed for a yarn of a medium thickness (light DK yarn), you use any weigh but be aware to choose a “sticky” yarn, because it works better for colorwork knitting.
