Tilt-a-Whirl Baby Blanket is a fun and easy knit. Knit flat, and using short rows for shaping, it knits up in no time! While using self-striping yarn will highlight the short rows, it would look equally as beautiful in a solid or variegated color. The edges of the blanket are finished with an I-cord that is knit at the same time as the blanket, giving a smooth and finished edge.

Yardage: I highly recommend purchasing five skeins for this project. I used up every bit of four skeins. Plus, you may need the extra skein to keep the striping order intact.

Finishing: You may sew the center and seam in your favorite method. After trying several different methods here’s what worked best for me. I closed the the center hole using the mattress stitch. I sewed up the seam with the RS facing up and going through one loop from the BO edge over to the opposite loop on the CO edge.
