Timantti is a light and airy shawl made of stockinette stitch with a beautiful diamond pattern border as the only decoration.
Timantti - such a beautiful word - means diamond in Finnish.

Finished size: 70 cm from neck to tip, 190 cm from corner to corner.

The top picture shows the shawl in a handdyed Merino lace yarn, but you can also knit the shawl in fingering weight.

Clarification: When it´s stated in the pattern that you should make the left side reversed, it may confuse you. I mean that the pattern itself is the same, it is the stitches closest to the center and the sides that should be mirrored from the right side to create a balanced pattern. I´m sorry if this was somewhat unclear! If you have trouble with the pattern, please contact me so I can fix it!!!
To the left is a picture of chart B, left side. It may help you to understand what I mean…
Also, the pattern repeat shown in chart A is knitted 7,5 times on each side of the shawl. I.e. the pattern repeat is 8 stitches, but this way you get a clear view of the placement of the double YO’s.
