This cardigan and cap make a wonderful last minute Christmas gift or baby shower gift as they knit up really fast.
The set is given in four sizes: 0 – 3 months (size 1), 3 – 6 months (size 2), 6 – 9 months (size 3), 9 – 12 months (size 4).
You can easily make it in larger sizes, just add another pattern repeat for more width. For more length you may either repeat the pattern sequence given or you consult Sheila McGregor’s Traditional Scandinavian Knitting.
It is a nice pattern for knitters who start knitting with two colors per round, as you can relax on the solid color rounds.
The cap is knitted top down which results in an inversion of the pattern, a nice twist to the overall design, I think. There are two alternative earflaps given.
