After over a decade of perfecting the design and selling hundreds of finished stockings, I’m thrilled to finally share the pattern with the world!

DIFFICULTY: Easy for those with experience knitting in the round on double pointed needles. Includes step by step photo directions.

DIMENSIONS: 3 inches tall, 1 1⁄2 inch wide

MATERIALS:
• Worsted/aran yarn in main color (MC) and contrasting color (CC), in total about 5 grams/5 yards (3 yard MC, 2 yard CC)
• Set of four Size 3 DPNs
• Yarn/tapestry needle

GAUGE: 6 sts and 8 rows = 1 inch

I like to knit these tightly using worsted yarn and small needles; this helps the stockings keep their shape. However, gauge is not critical for this pattern, and you’re welcome to experiment to see what gauge you prefer.

Add a touch of softness to any sized Christmas tree, or get creative with your decorating and gifting! These stocking ornaments have also been used as:
An advent calendar
Christmas party favors
A hamster’s stocking

These stockings can even be stuffed… they are the perfect size to hold a mini candy cane or a tiny trinket, making them a perfect small gift.
