I love using smaller hooks for my toys because the gauge comes out really tight, which is great for holding the stuffing and keeping its shape. Please use whatever hook is most comfortable for you.

If you want to make the totoro even smaller, use a lighter yarn such as sport weight, and a smaller hook, like a B or D.

This pattern looks really cute as either the white or the blue totoro, so have fun with the colors!
