Please note, the hat is knit bottom up and the cocoon is knit top down. Keep this in mind for color changes.

Cocoon Sizes:
Newborn, 3 months, 6 months

Yarn:.
30-100 grams 60-200 yards of worsted weight.

Needles:
US size 7/4.5mm circular knitting needles.
US size 5/3.75mm circular knitting needles.
US size 7/4.5mm dpns.
US size 5/3.75mm dpns.
Or size needed to achieve gauge.
Cable needle (similar gauge to dpns)

Gauge:
23 sts x 28 rows = 4 in x 4 in worked in Stockinette Stitch.

Special Abbreviations:
k - Knit
p - Purl
C4B - Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
C4F - Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
T4B - Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then purl sts from cable needle.
T4F - Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, purl next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.
k2tog - Knit next two stitches on left-hand needle together as one stitch, one stitch decreased.
