Initially started as a pair of socks, Toby’s Mitts came about thanks to a special request made by my aunt. Her loving cat Toby loved to curl up on her hands while she was typing, but when he wasn’t there, her hands were always cold. She couldn’t find a pair of gloves that were thin enough to continue typing, but nothing else could keep her hands warm.

Using a very specific type of increase, I was able to keep the thumb gusset in the 2x2 rib pattern for consistency throughout the mitt. If the increases do not make sense, please comment or message me and I’ll explain how to do it.

Sizing: One size fits most.
Supplies: Fingering weight yarn, 2.5mm needles, stitch markers, darning needle.
