Finished size of 2T-3T should be close to 25 inch circumference around widest part of shoulder, and about 22” around torso. (4T -5 should be about 26.5 inch circumference around widest part of shoulders, and about 23” around the torso).

MATERIALS NEEDED: Crochet hook in size E or F, or hook to obtain the correct gauge. About 420 yards of #18 Nylon thread (has to be #18 size): there is a great array of colors online. You can find it in white, off white, taupe, or even gray. Or you can use the Sport Weight BABY yarn or similar size yarn.

You need about 20 oz or so of the FIRM and COURSE DRY fiberfill (I find that Fairfield Crafters Choice ( the kind that specifies it dry, course and “packs tightly”) OR Morning Glory Premium Fiberfill works really well works)-the light super fluffy silky type wont pack in tight enough or firm enough to give you the intended result.

You will need a yarn needle, and a stitch marker.

Difficulty level: Easy. (does take some time to complete, as any crochet project will take time and effort).

You need to know basic crochet stitches: single crochet, decrease, and increase stitches. Pattern is worked in the round and a stitch marker must be used.

Your finished mannequin should accommodate a 2T size garment or up to a size 3T.
Keep in mind my suggested fit sizes are recommendations: garments will fit differently depending on the type of garment, brand, etc.

Included in pattern is an option to create a 4T-5 size mannequin. (I currently don’t offer any larger child size mannequin patterns. This is the largest offered at this time).

***Measurements of babies vary widely even when in same age group; size estimates are ‘estimates’ only, and my age labels are based on general averages/estimates of babies measurements, along with fittings of particular baby garments. Baby garments also vary widely in measurements even when labeled as “24 mo” or “2T, 3T”, etc. Use the size mannequin for your particular garment’s measurements that work best for you.***
