This is a pattern for a light and lacy stole. The feature stitch comes to us from Japan, which s a very unique cable lace stitch.

This stole is knitted with fingering weight yarn. The stole is approximately 16 inches x 68 inches, and requires approximately 800 - 1000 yards. However, there are instructions contained within the pattern for a wide scarf, (10 inches wide). Although the focal cable stitch comes to us Japan, but it is charted using Western symbols.

The stitches are charted only.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a very good working knowledge of cable-lace knitting)

There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged.

The stole was expertly tested by Gaye Fehr, who can be contacted at grf1956@gmail.com, and was knit using Handmaiden’s/Fleece Artist’s Prosecco yarn in colorway, White. (The yarn has been discontinued: A good substitute would be Handmaiden’s Mini-Maiden yarn)

The pattern is for sale both here on Ravelry, and in my Etsy shop in the Scarf/Stole/Shawl section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?ref=seller-...)
