In music, a tone poem is a work inspired by an idea or a story, rich in texture and mood-based theme. Like it’s namesake, this shawl was built from the kernel of a (lacy) mood, and structured around a repeating diamond motif.

Diamond shapes first appear in the edges of the top feature, are repeated throughout the body, and then in the wide band near the edge. The knitted-on edging itself expresses the diamond as a half motif. In the end, all blend together to create an ethereal shawl fit for your laciest moods.
