This pattern is worked from the top down in a traditional raglan fashion. There is an option for short row shaping on the back to account for a slight rounding of the shoulders. The button and buttonhole borders are knit as the sweater is knit, buttonholes are placed near the top. The lace border is worked from a chart. The sleeves are worked in the round from the underarm to the lace cuff. The sleeve cuff is the same lace pattern as the body border. The collar is picked up after the sweater is knit and worked in the same lace pattern as the sleeve cuffs and body border. The collar is worked inside-out so that when it is folded over, the right side of the lace shows. This pattern has many extra explanations for ease of knitting.
