I’ve been using this basic pattern for knitting socks from the cuff down ever since I started knitting socks. They are quick and easy. With a skein of sock yarn, I can generally knit a pair of socks with a 6” (15 cm) leg and still end up with about one ounce (30 g) of yarn left!
