This is my rendition of a messy bun hat!

The stitches come together to create a beautiful, scalloped edge adding a little style and flair to the band. Many options are given to make this hat unique to the knitter.

There are two different size openings for the messy bun depending on the amount of hair a person has; an option to complete the hat for a closed toque; AND an option to have an open lace look or the closed fan.

As for the name…it’s for my sweet, darling, 17-year-old yorkie, Bella. Since she was a puppy, she has had to wear a cute little ponytail on top of her head to keep the fur out of her eyes, we have always referred to it as her “top knot”.
