One ball of self striping wool and a girl with a cold neck. Not knowing how far I could get, I started knitting a cowl topdown increasing the amount of stitches along the way.

The height of this cowl is 6 inches / 15 cm, around the neck it measures 13 inches / 33 cm.

What you need is four double pointed knitting needles number 7 (US 10.5 or 11) and about 80 yd / 75 m of yarn.
