The ‘lean’ direction can be identified by the forward leg.

Sample Measurements

14 by 47” (35.5 by 119 cm)

Gauge

Gauge is not critical but will affect size and yardage.

Sample gauge, after blocking:
1 rep in pattern (15 sts wide) 2.5” (6.3 cm)

Stockinette in round, after blocking :
20 sts by 30 r = 4” (10 cm)
You want relatively tight stitches.

For Maximum Dimensional Effect

Use tightly plied, springy, round yarn.
Small sts / firm fabric.
Snug down the central double decreases.
