The Toula Summer Tank Top features a diamond lace pattern for the torso which is the same for the front and back of the garment. It comes together and features a lace motif in the center just below the V-Neck.
This yarn is a wonderful blend of Viscose, cotton, and linen and has a slight sheen to it and is a light enough fabric to wear in summer.
This pattern is for the more advanced knitter and should be familiar with shaping techniques and comfortable with a variety of stitches. The pattern mostly features charts with little written instruction, but should not be difficult to follow.
Please take the time to knit a stockinette swatch using US size 5 Needles to check the gauge of this project. I tend to knit quite tight and checking your gauge may save you a lot of time and frustration. It also could be the difference between using different size needles for this project.

At the Vogue Knitting LIVE! show in Pasadena this year, with my knitted tank top on display, I had a few people ask, “why the name Toula?” for the design. Honest answer; from the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Back in 2010 when I first came up with the idea for this tank top pattern I was quite enamored of the film. After leaving an unhealthy and controlling relationship a few months prior, I was drawn to anything that reminded me that real love is kind and giving. The story of a woman finding herself, coming out of her shell, embracing the world and meeting a man who loves her for who she is.

I suppose it is fitting that I was inspired to publish the pattern this year after finding that kind of man, who loves, accepts, encourages, and inspires me. Publishing took much longer than I had hoped, but I have many things in my life that I try to juggle and maintain and it takes a lot of time and focus to publish patterns. I am elated that it is finished and am very pleased with the results. I hope you will enjoy it too! Please like, love, and share!
