This pattern of a ripple afghan uses clusters of crochet stitches and front post crochet stitches to create a thick, cozy blanket. It was a little complex to get started before the Ripple began to take its shape, but was simple enough of a pattern to memorize after a few rows were completed.

The gauge isn’t calculated in the usual fashion. A small swatch is made from ch 63 X 6 rows. The swatch should end up measuring 13”x6.5”. When the actual blanket is worked up, it should measure 6.5” from point to point. Eight rows worth of worked blanket should equal 5”.
