The Travel by Rail Shawl is a shawl for every loomer. It may be loomed flat on a large, regular, or small gauge loom, with worsted, DK, or fingering weight yarn. The shawl is a mid-sized shawl, worked in two colors, and trimmed with ribbon around the edges.

Looms:
¾ inch gauge - 40 pegs
5/8 inch gauge - 48 pegs
½ inch gauge - 50 pegs
3/8 inch gauge – 60 pegs

Size: after blocking, depending on the loom used, about 22 x 47 inches to 28 by 56 inches

Yarn: wool or alpaca (or blend of the two) that you may block
¾ inch - 400 yards WW (200 of each color)
5/8 & ½ inch - 460 yards DK or fingering (220 of each color)
3/8 inch – 560 yards fingering (280 of each color)
