In this design I was interested in how traveling stitch patterns can naturally create a decorative edge on a scarf. I was also trying to find ways to use pricier skeins in partnership with less expensive yarns to create a pleasing, more affordable design. Here you can substitute your own favorite hand paints into this pattern and get the visual impact of more expensive yarns without needing to make the whole garment with them. Or splurge! The spinners will love you!

This is a reversible scarf and can be easily made wider by casting on more stitches in the garter stitch section.

It should be noted here that there are two different weights of yarn used in this pattern. That’s an intentional design feature. The Mountain Meadow yarn is a heavy Aran weight and the Lorna’s Laces yarn a light Aran or DK weight. The differences in these weights helps create the selvedge effects. Keep this in mind if you are substituting yarns.

NOTE: As a new designer I struggle to get feedback and more than anything what I desire is conversation about my designs. What appealed to you about this one? What made you click on it? Download it? What are you interested in and how can I as a designer be responsive to your needs and wants? Any feedback you can provide will be most appreciated! Hit me up and happy knitting!
