The main flower motif in this shawl is from Herbert Niebling’s Tulpenkranz (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tulpenkranz). Studying and playing with his designs and motifs has given me a huge appreciation for his skill in shaping and using stitch texture.

I used a handspun, lace weight yarn for this shawl with size 1.5 US needles but I knit very loosely. swatch to find the yarn and needle combination that gives you the look and hand you want.

Warning - the pattern has not been test knitted by anyone other than myself so there may be errors. Please let me know if you find any and I will post a corrected version. Thanks.
