The tri-knit-y necklace was designed after I had a desire to create a new neck accessory that used a small amount of yarn and wouldn’t be too bulky so I could wear it in summer. One of the groups I belong to (Design It!) had a new challenge that was really inspiring me to start designing this necklace.

The necklace pattern leaves room for customization. There are no exact row numbers and no need for stitch markers. You can knit each section longer to create a longer necklace or even change the braid to a twist or chained design depending on how you cast off. The yarn weight is not set in stone either as long as you choose the correct needle for your yarn.
