Trikala’s mod, geometric T pattern makes a bold statement in this comfy cowl! The cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up and uses slip stitch technique to create the overall pattern, so knitters will only need to work with one color per round. Simple 1x1 Rib finishes off the bottom and top cowl edges. This is a great pattern for learning basic slip-stitch and mosaic techniques.

This is an intermediate level pattern. Knitters should have experience with slip stitch/mosaic knitting techniques, and following a two-color chart or written instructions.

The gauge is 28 sts and 48 rows over 4” (10cm) in Trikala mosaic pattern, blocked.

The Trikala cowl is sized to fit the average adult.

For this design I used Knit Picks Chroma Fingering (70% Superwash Wool, 30% Nylon; 396yds/100g): 1 ball each of MC: Grey #25867, CC: GoGo Boots #28033. You may substitute any fingering weight yarn in two contrasting colors.

You will also need a 16” (40cm) circular needle in size US (3.5mm) or size to obtain gauge, and a 16” (40cm) circular needle in US3 (3.25mm) or one size smaller than size needed for gauge.

This pattern includes a two-color chart as well as written instructions, so knitters can choose according to their preference.
