The final piece of my 2021 spring collection will convert nicely to a summer piece using a linen or cotton yarn. The spring version continues my love for Dapple by Brooklyn Tweed.

The variations in the yarn lend itself to quirky colour characteristics depending on how you arrange your skeins in the piece. I was going for a freestyle fade. I’m quite pleased with the result.

This pattern starts at the neck with a picot edge created by folding over the neck after knitting 7 rows. The neck is knit in the round. After the neck is finished than shoulder stitches are added on either side of the neck. The piece is then knit flat to the end of the armholes. Rejoining in the round after the armholes the piece is finished in the round. Embellished with beads at the picot and at the edges of the lace rib adds sparkle to this spring piece. Once you have knit with beads it becomes addictive to add them to your knitting. Enjoy.

This swoncho is generously oversized. Pick the dimensions from the schematic that will work for your body type. Three sizes have been determined in this pattern requiring 6 (8, 10) skeins of Dapple. The ease is 30” to 36”.
