This pattern is for a simple, solid color, seed stitch potholder made by double knitting, finished with an I-cord loop for hanging. The pattern instructions are very short (one paragraph) with little explanation. This pattern is #66 (p. 163) in 100 Knitting Projects by Jean Leinhauser and Rita Weiss. This pattern is by Rita Weiss. The title “Triplet Pot Holders” comes from the fact that the sample photograph shows three potholders made from the pattern, each made from three different colors of the Lily Sugar’n Cream yarn. Each potholder requires 1 oz. of a different color of Lily Sugar’n Cream yarn.

from the pattern, “Note: The pot holders are made by a process called double knitting which produces a tubular piece that is the same on both sides and joined at the bottom cast-on edge. The stitch can be used to create a double thickness for a flat piece for which extra insulation is desired, such as these pot holders.”
