About this pattern

Known as a dock worker beanie, Jacques Cousteau hat, or, more recently, hipster hat, this type of knitted headwear has been around for a long time. This simple version was specifically created for our Brusca yarn. The brim can be folded up one or two times, depending on weather and/or style.

Pattern notes

This hat is worked bottom up, starting at the brim. The knitted fabric should be dense (see recommended gauge) for warmth and elasticity.

Size

This is a medium sized beanie. The finished measurements are: width: 24cm; height: 24cm from the CO edge (after first wash).
For a slouchier beanie you can increase the number of rows knitted before the start of the decreases.
