This headhugging, fluffy little cloche is knitted bottom up from an I-cord cast on (instructions given).

It incorporates a simple 8 st lace pattern and decreases with a decorative, lacy decrease.

Crochet flower is illustrated but instructions also given for alternative knitted flower.

Knitted flat, on 2 needles and seamed, it is a very simple pattern. It will knit up in an evening of telly watching and make a quick gift or bazaar contribution.

Entirely suitable for a novice knitter, particularly as a simple introduction to lace patterns.
