Tulipa Hollandia, a strong red and regal tulip, with its lofty and stately petals most certainly commands attention. This beautiful flower is gentle yet stately, delicate yet tenacious. Tulipa Hollandia, a seemingly innocent flower, packs a mighty punch! The design of this wrap, with its shaping and stitch pattern, is my way to pay homage to this very tulip, showing the contrast between subtlety and strength, and in that oh so intensely powerful red.

The wrap is a fun knit with just enough pattern changes to offer variety and keep it interesting, yet is easy to memorize having the same motif repeated throughout.

The bobbles in this sample have been crocheted (photo tutorial included). However, they can be knitted instead, or even substituted with beads!

This wrap is the third design in The Conservatory Collection series. Similarly to Eden Rose and Lilium Regale wraps, Tulipa Hollandia is knit from tip to tip, alternating between lace panels and stockinette.

This pattern includes charts, as well as fully written, line by line instructions.

• Lace
• Long-tail cast on

Construction:
The wrap begins at the tip with one motif and grows with additional motifs on each repeat until the full width is reached. The twisted stitch border commences from the cast on and carries on throughout. A stockinette and lace combination is worked through the centre to the desired length, at which point the lace panel begins again.

Prefer it longer, or perhaps narrower? Tulipa Hollandia wrap can easily be altered in length and width. Because, well, we all want something different!
