I’ve been wanting to learn how to do Tunisian Crochet for a long time, and I finally figured it out! This little coffee cozy is the product of several short rows of the Tunisian Simple Stitch that were joined by a seam and slipped onto my travel cup. Easy Peasy!

MATERIALS: I-9 (5.5 mm) Tunisian crochet hook, small amount of worsted weight cotton or wool, yarn needle, scissors. (If you don’t have a Tunisian hook you can still make this project with a regular I hook because the rows are short.)

STITCH GUIDE: ch - chain, YO - yarn over

  1. You do not turn at the end of a row. Each row is worked from right to left, and then back again (…or left to right, if you’re a lefty.)
  2. Count your stitches EVERY time… it’s very easy to miss the last stitch of the row!
  3. The piece will curl up, but when you sew the seam closed, it will work out just fine.
  4. Gauge is not critical to this project.
