An adorable little monster to knit and love!

The sample was knit with one skein of Cascade 220 each in:
#8010 Natural (A)
#8887 Dark Lavender (B)
#7814 Chartreuse (C)
#7830 Coral (D)
#9421 Blue Hawaii (E)

Since you’ll only need a few grams each of B, C, D and E, I’d recommend that you to dig through your stash to find any odd balls of worsted-weight yarn you already have. See what amazing color combination you can come up with! While you’re in the stash, 1.75 oz/50 g should be plenty for the main color (A). Also, consider thinking beyond wool. Dishcloth cotton is great for toys!

Back in January 2009 my friend Tanis Gray dreamed that she and I designed a project together. Call us both crazy, but it seemed like her subconscious was on to something! So we threw some ideas around and in about two minutes flat we decided that Fair Isle monsters were the way to go. This is my project…You can find Tanis’ creation, The Stubenmonster (and tons of her other fabulous designs), by searching for TanisKnits on Ravelry.
