From the book: “When I was growing up, my best friend had a pair of vintage cherry earrings that I coveted. Two Bakelite cherries dangled from each of her ears and made a “clicking” sound when they knocked together, every time she turned her head. Years later, I’m still mesmerized by this sound. I designed this necklace eagerly trying to recapture the playfulness of those earrings.
”My mom, in turn, was inspired by my design and sought to incorporate some of her own favorite aesthetic, using African beads and a subdued palate. Her ethnic interpretation reminds us that we all see the world a little differently, and that’s a beautiful thing.“

Materials:
16 Charms—you can either make your own, as I did, or use existing ones. If you choose to make your own, you will need several large beads of your choice. I designed four different charms, and made 4 of each type.
16 Head Pins (if you are making charms)
