This pattern can be found in my 2016 book Double or Nothing: Reversible Knitting for the Adventurous.

In my first book, there were two neckties. I discovered that double-knitting is a great solution to some of the issues with knitted neckties, and I decided I should do one more for the new book as well. This one is in a luxurious laceweight blend of bison down and silk.

The elegant diagonal double-stripe pattern is actually done in 1x1 double-knit cables, and it’s still so lightweight that you could easily get 3 neckties out of a single pair of skeins.

A 60.5” long tie will be a good length for a standard knot; a 66.5” long tie will be good for a double Windsor or other more complex knot. The longest size requires merely 28 g of yarn or 14 g of each color. In other words, you would not only have no problem making either tie out of two skeins, you could make 3 of them and still have plenty of yarn left over.
