Inspiration:
The inspiration for this accessory has come from the incredible spectacle that is the Auroa borealis
The design starts and finishes with a wide section of ribbing which depicts the rays that shower the night sky in their spectacular show.
The main body of the design depicts the stars that sparkle so brightly during this spectacular display.

Construction:
This cowl is knitted flat for 3/4 of the design, then joined in the round for the final section.

The design encompasses both ribbing, stitch manipulation and yarn overs.

With the yarn overs at the edge of the pattern they can “double up” as button holes to convert the shawl into a poncho, giving this accessories two ways of wearing it.
