Additional Notes:
This is a vintage style baby blanket using a simple 4 row repeat for the Star Stitch pattern. The bottom and top of the pattern have simple, but elegant scalloped lace pattern. It has slipped stitch edges for nice, neat edges.

This baby blanket starts with the old Norwegian cast-on using larger needles.
When your blanket reaches the desired length, follow the pattern for the top border.
Bind off using the Icelandic bind-off.
The Star Stitch can become stiff if knit too tightly. If your swatch seems too stiff, use a larger needle.
