From the book: “We have both worked with yarn for many years, both in retail and as avid knitters and crocheters. When unrolled skeins of yarn become loose, it is necessary to put them back in to the neat little bundle that looks like a pastry twist. To do so, insert your hands into the center of the open skein, and pull them away from one another so that the skein is taut. Twist each of your hands in opposite directions; when you bring them together, the skein twists neatly back on itself. One end is tucked into the other, and the bundle looks like new.
”It was this funny little method of handling yarn that inspired the design for this necklace. By twisting the ends in opposite directions, the two sides of the necklace neatly (and permanently) intertwine.“
