A note about charts: This pattern includes a photo-tutorial of join-as-you-go techniques needed to construct this afghan with no seaming. It is charted in a grid chart to indicate what type and color of stitch is needed, but is not drawn in a traditional crochet stitch diagram. Written pattern gives some help in using charts but row instructions are not included.

A note about gauge and size: I did not include gauge but one octagon motif in the sample afghan is approximately 10” square. Choose a gauge that gives your yarn the drape and hand you like - the pattern is easy to adjust in either dimension to give you the size you want.

A note about yardage: one octagon motif uses about 60 yards of octagon color and 35 yards of main color.
