The idea behind these gloves is to take one color, and increase to the second one until the first is gone, giving the glove a sort of ombre effect.

To take it a step further, I used lavender fingering yarn and then a variegated fingering yarn to achieve a “rainbow” effect. My yarn came from Knitpicks, but any fingering weight yarn will do.

You must know how to knit in the round and how to purl to make these gloves. I explain how to make the thumb with pictures and text explanations.

You Will Need:

1) A set of 2.75 double pointed knitting needles, or needle for magic loop

2) 230 yards of fingering weight yarn, in two colors (so about 115 yards of each color)

3) A 3.5mm needle to bind off.

4) A small piece of scrap yarn for making your thumb hole.

5) Scissors, needle to weave in ends, and patience with tiny yarn
