There’s nothing worse than an ear ache from cold and windy weather. Two hoots can easily protect you from such conditions and is now my essential wear for walking and cycling. It is adjustable; meaning they can be used by all different head sizes and shapes.



Materials

37 yards / 34 meters for your main colour. Shown in Manos silk blend, shade: 9039, colour family variegated brown/blue.

9 yards / 8 meters for your contrast colour. Shown in Sublime baby cashmere merino silk dk, shade: 0006, colour family beige.

Cable needle.

Small amount of toy stuffing.

4” x 2” / 10cm x 5cm of stiff plastic.

Approx. 25” / 64cm of elastic cord.

4 small buttons / toy craft eyes (optional).

Scissors.

Hole punch.

Secure the ends of elastic cord: lighter / nail polish / seam sealant.

Tapestry needle.


Finished Measurements

Dependant on yarn used. Approx. 4” / 10cm in diameter for each of the ear warmers (as shown).



Gauge

Your choice. Simply knit with a gauge 1 – 2 times smaller than your chosen yarn to hold the stuffing.

There are many ways which the ear warmers can be assembled and I have included a guide which I found easiest, though you may prefer other variations.
