This cowl is a perfect beginners’ pattern. The pattern is a simple k2 p2 ribbing. There’s a small challenge only in changing the color once, and the required knitting the round.

But the construction is intriguing, because your will get two cowls in one: By using two colors and folding the cowl over you will get a reversible fashion accessory.

At the same time the cowl is super warm, soft and cosy due to the double layers. The pattern calls for a worsted weight yarn, of which about 100 yards per color are needed. This means that you’ll need two half skeins of the suggested yarns. So, you can make two cowl - one for a friend and one for yourself.
