This charming T-rex is the perfect toy for any little dinosaur lover! When finished he stands up on his own on his legs and tail reaching about 8 inches in height.

September 2020-updated version of the pattern includes neater formatting and simplified directions. Short rows are now worked with wraps and turns instead of yarn overs.

The skill level for this pattern is intermediate to advanced.

-Much of the shaping on this dinosaur is done through the use of short rows with wraps. Make sure to pick up the wrap and work it with the stitch whenever coming to a previously wrapped stitch.

-Often the short rows will work back and forth over the beginning of round marker in order to have the shaping in the correct place. When this happens, leave the beginning of round marker in place, but disregard it until the directions say to work to the end of the round.

The head shaping is worked like the heel flap and gusset of a sock.

Techniques used include:
Working in the round
Short rows with wraps
Right lifted increase
Knit two together
Purl two together
Slip, slip, knit
Slip one stitch
Yarn over
