This pattern has a simple yet striking design. Once the first few rows are finished, the knitting rhythm will be set, so the only things to remember are the half twists across each row and the full twist at each end. Use two similar colors, as shown, for subtle stripes, or try two contrasting colors for a more stunning look.

YARN: One skein each of two different colors of the same weight yarn. Sample shown in Dream in Color Everlasting DK (100% superwash Merino wool; 275 yds per 100 g skein); Color A: ‘Herbal’; and Madelinetosh Tosh DK (100% superwash Merino wool; 225 yds per skein); Color B: ‘Grey Garden’

NEEDLES: US 9/5.5 mm

NOTIONS: stitch marker

GAUGE: 4 sts = 1 inch

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Width: 5 3/8” Length: 58”

NOTES:
This item is worked flat using the IODK Technique.
Half Twist: Change colors on the opposite and facing sides by moving the front working yarn to the back, and vice versa.
Full Twist: Wind the working yarns around each other once and return them to same positions (opposite side and facing side). This connects the fabric layers, helping to keep them in place, without changing colors on either side.
