Uhke is a sock pattern that uses Estonian vikkel twisted traveling stitches to create a fun pattern amidst a rib stitch. Who needs a boring 1x1 rib sock cuff when you can have fun with these twisted traveling stitch patterns! This is an excellent sock knitting pattern for playing with special hand dyed skeins of sock yarn in your stash like the fun neon pink hand dyed yarn by Punk Rock Unicorn used in the original Uhke sock. The geometric pattern of the vikkel stitches in the cuff are inspired by the bold chevron patterns found on bright and bold doors on the Estonian island Muhu.

Pattern Notes
This sock is knit from the cuff down with a deep textured cuff featuring twisted ribbing and vikkel twisted stitch patterns inspired by bold geometric patterns of doors from the colourful Estonian island Muhu. The vikkel twisted stitch patterns are incorporated into the rib with left and right purl twists. Links to video tutorials on the left and right purl twists included in pattern.

The heel flap and heel use a German heel with a mock rib created from a slip stitch pattern that echoes the rib lines on the cuff.
