I have always liked Norwegian Selbu mittens, but wanted to design something that was culturally closer to home and more personal to me. So here is the first in a series of 8 mitten designs inspired by my Ukrainian grandmother and her beautiful traditional Ukrainian cross stitch patterns (the others will be up for sale as soon as I finish all the editing required!)

These mittens are definitely not for beginners (unless you’re a masochist like me LOL!) - constructed in one piece, lined, with stranded colourwork and an additional thumb option. Full chart provided and basic mitten instructions.

You will need 1 skein each of 3 different colours (red, black and white) plus possibly a bit extra of the lining colour to make these mittens.
