The basic cuff-down stockinette sock gets an upgrade with a band of swirling colorwork in a contrast color. Gather up your favorite sock yarn scraps or mini skeins for the colorwork -- or get two skeins of the recommending yarns and knit up two coordinating pairs, switching the colors. Sized to fit the whole family!

To knit this pattern, you need to know how to:

  • work basic sock techniques,
  • read and work from a colorwork chart, and
  • use Kitchener stitch to graft live stitches.

These socks use a traditional heel flap/gusset and wide toe. The colorwork motif is only charted. Notes about maintaining a consistent gauge in single-color stockinette versus stranded work and color dominance are included.
