I designed this baby blanket with the theme of Under The Sea. It is easy to knit up and provides flexibility in design and size.

You can mix and match the 9 motifs in a variety of ways to make it truly unique.

The skill level is beginner as the only stitches used are knits and purls. It does take some concentration when doing the charts to ensure you are following the rows for each motif accurately. The border is knit as you go along so there’s no need to pick up stitches.

Charts for the motifs: Whale, Octopus, Dolphin, Shark, Turtle, Seahorse, Seal, Crab, Penguin; plus 1 bonus chart of a Starfish for a total of 10 motifs

Materials (for 9 Square Blanket); 4 balls 3.5 oz (100 grams), double knitting yarn. US 6 (4 mm) 24” or longer circular needle; stitch markers; tapestry needle to sew in loose ends.

Finished Measurements (as pictured with 9 squares): 30 inches (76 cm) X 30 inches (76 cm)

You can choose to make smaller blankets
2 Blocks Wide and 3 Blocks High: 21 inches (53 ½ cm) x 30 inches (73 cm)
2 Blocks Wide and 2 Blocks High: 21 inches (53 ½ cm) x 21 inches (53 ½ cm)
